Nick Leontidis was appointed to the new position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) in May 2024 to further strengthen execution capabilities and drive additional synergies between CAE’s Civil Aviation and Defense & Security business segments. Mr. Leontidis was previously CAE’s Group President, Civil Aviation, a position he held since June 2013.
A CAE veteran, having first joined the company in 1988, Mr. Leontidis has held a series of increasingly senior positions in the company, with a proven track record of performance across both Civil and Defence programs. He has been instrumental in building CAE’s training business over the past 20 years, and as Civil Group President, he led CAE’s Civil Aviation business to record heights to become the world’s largest aviation training solutions provider.
Prior to his appointment as Group President, Mr. Leontidis served as CAE’s Executive Vice President, Strategy and Business Development for more than four years. During this time, he played an important leadership role, responsible for CAE’s overall corporate strategy, overseeing all mergers and acquisitions activities.
Mr. Leontidis joined CAE as a software engineer, and was quickly promoted to Vice President of the Visuals Systems group in 1999. From 2001 to 2009 he held a series of executive positions of increasing responsibility in the Civil business unit where he was instrumental in the creation and growth of the training and services business. His positions included Vice President, Sales and Marketing; Executive Vice President, Simulation Products; Executive Vice President, Civil Aviation Training and Equipment; and finally Executive Vice President, Customers, where he was responsible for sales, marketing, business development, strategic planning, program management and customer services functions across the Civil Simulation and Training business unit.
