For over 25 years, CAE has had a significant presence in Australia that today includes more than 300 employees at almost 20 sites throughout the country.

CAE Australia Pty Ltd, was established by CAE in 1994 and is based in Homebush, New South Wales.  As one of the key regional business operations that make up CAE’s Defence and Security business unit, CAE Australia is focused on serving the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and other regional defence customers. Leveraging the full breadth of CAE’s global training capabilities and leading-edge simulation technologies, CAE Australia brings proven solutions to the Australian market and surrounding region in addition to delivering world-class engineering and training support services.  Some of the major programs led by CAE Australia for the Australian Defence Force include the Management and Support of ADF Aerospace Simulators (MSAAS); KC-30A tanker training systems and comprehensive training services at RAAF Amberley; C-130J training systems and services at RAAF Richmond; S-70A Black Hawk full-flight and mission simulator and maintenance services at Oakey; MRH90 training systems and services at Oakey and Townsville; MH-60R Seahawk training services at Nowra, AP-3C maintenance and engineering support services at RAAF Edinburgh and the KA350 King Air simulator services at RAAF East Sale.  In addition, CAE Australia is also part of the General Atomics-led Team Reaper Australia pursuing the Project Air 7003 requirement for the Australian Defence Force.

CAE Australia is the first defence contractor in Australia to achieve the CMMI Level 3 rating specifically for Services.  CAE Australia has also achieved the CMMI Level 3 rating for simulator product development. CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance.

In April 2018, CAE expanded its Defence and Security business unit operations in Australia by opening a new office in Canberra.  The new CAE Canberra office is located in Brindabella Park. CAE’s office in Canberra is co-located with Defence in the heart of Australia’s capital, which enables our local team to be available and responsive in supporting the training needs and requirements of the ADF.  As a world-class training systems integrator and long-term services provider, CAE has a lot to offer in supporting the training of the men and women of the ADF while contributing to enhancing safety, efficiency and readiness.

CAE Australia has signed the Soldier On Pledge. The Pledge is a free and non-binding agreement to support Australian veterans and their families, by offering a “Hand up not a hand out”.  The Pledge is part of the Pathways Program forming a channel by which veterans and families can identify supportive organisations who are committed to understanding the huge skills, talent, and abilities of those who have served Australia.
