Leveraging Modeling and Simulation in R&D to Help Create Leading Edge Warfighters
CAE USA, following the acquisition of the former L3 Link Simulation and Training business, now supports modeling and simulation for research and development (R&D) at the U.S. Air Force Research Lab (AFRL). This R&D lab builds on an existing decade-long partnership with the AFRL’s Warfighter Readiness Research Division to advance its warfighter readiness and training program. CAE USA works with a number of other industry providers to conduct a wide range of research into advanced digital technologies aimed at improving current and future Air Force, joint, and coalition training effectiveness.
Our R&D role focuses on enabling and streamlining the day-to-day development, delivery, management, tracking, and performance of local, distributed mission training, and full live-virtual-constructive (LVC) operations. The program is structured to transition new technologies and improved training methods directly to the warfighter, transforming current training doctrine and developing technologies of the future.
As part of the program, CAE USA provides comprehensive evaluation and validation of training approaches, including methods, tools, instrumentation, and enterprise infrastructure for learning and student performance. We also manage the operations and maintenance (O&M) of the Warfighter Readiness Research Division’s testbeds.
