Advanced APG Performance Training

AN INDUSTRY-LEADING COLLABORATION

CAE and Aircraft Performance Group (APG) have partnered to introduce Advanced APG Performance Training, a comprehensive training program focused on APG's Alternate Departure Procedures, exclusively offered by CAE.

This innovative course meets the updated requirements of FAA Order 8900.1 Vol 4 Chapter 3, Section 3 pursuant of FAA issuance of OpSpec A009, providing FAA Part 135 operators with essential instruction on APG solutions.

This type of training enables pilots to gain proficiency in using APG tools, leading to better preparedness and performance in real flight scenarios. APG trained pilots make informed decisions based on accurate performance data, reducing the risk of errors during flight operations.

Designed by APG and taught by CAE instructors, the training aligns with FAA guidelines for evaluating performance data, enhancing safety and operational efficiency. With APG solutions utilized in over 50% of daily business aviation flights, this course benefits all operators using APG tools, ensuring pilots are well-trained and proficient.

Course Outline

Ground School consists of 4 hours of Instructor-led Remote Learning with a heavy focus on:

  • Declared Distances and Aircraft Performance
  • Engine Out Procedure Creation and Considerations
  • Climb Segments and Obstacle Clearance
  • Landing Performance
  • Landing Factors and LDTA
  • iPreflight Genesis Performance – Runway Analysis

Simulator training will then be embedded into the pilot’s next Initial or 5-day Recurrent course covering:

  • APG Runway Analysis
  • FMS – Flight Plan Entry OEI Departure Procedures
  • OEI Alternate Departure Procedures
  • Max Performance Landings
  • Rejected Landing with Approach Climb Gradient Performance Demo
