Human Factors
This course is an FAA-accepted course of instruction on modeling the thought process to pinpoint the decisions that give rise to maintenance errors.
Air travel is one of the safest means of transportation in the world today. Quite often, while examining the cause of an accident, a set of simple human errors, or “chain of events,” combine to create the incident. Maintenance errors play a crucial role in that chain of events in approximately ten percent of accidents. By breaking this chain of events at the maintenance level, accidents can be prevented.
During this course, we model the thought process of an aviation technician to pinpoint the decision(s) that gave rise to the maintenance error. Ultimately, reducing accidents by technicians will improve the overall business environment, and the whole aviation industry will benefit.
A review of notable case studies illustrates and emphasizes the impact of how seemingly small failures in routine maintenance can produce severe and often fatal results.
Human Factors Refresher
The Human Factors Refresher curriculum is an FAA-accepted course of condensed instruction on modeling the thought process to pinpoint the decisions that give rise to maintenance errors. Revisit the benefits of CAE’s Human Factors course with this one-day course.
This curriculum is designed to facilitate a review of the leading human factors elements. Human Factors is authorized to re-qualify the aviation maintenance technician for certification of an aircraft type rating as required by the European Aviation Safety Agency, Canada’s Department of Transport, the Federal Aviation Administration, and other governmental type rating directives.
This material is also designed to familiarize other aviation-related maintenance support personnel with the elements of Human Factors.
