Corporate Defence & Security Press release

CAE today announced that it has booked orders valued at more than C$100 million to provide a range of simulator upgrades and training services for defence and security customers. The orders, which are part of CAE's third quarter fiscal year 2014 order intake, include developing a comprehensive emergency management and crisis management centre of excellence for Brunei's Ministry of Home Affairs and providing long-term training services, providing C-130 simulator upgrades and support services for the U.S. Air Force, and a range of other contracts.

"We are honoured the CAE Brunei MPTC has been selected to provide long-term emergency management training to Brunei," said Gene Colabatistto, Group President - Defence and Security, CAE.  "This represents a major milestone in our strategy to leverage CAE's core capabilities beyond traditional defence in order to access more avenues for growth. Our systems integration experience combined with our expertise in simulation-based training allows us to create simulation centres that ultimately will improve operational decision-making. A simulation-based synthetic environment is ideal for planning, preparing and training for any kind of event, particularly emergencies that require significant coordination and response from multiple government and civilian agencies. We believe there is significant additional opportunity for CAE among other governments around the world seeking the highest standard in emergency preparedness."

Under terms of a 10-year training services contract, the CAE Brunei Multi-Purpose Training Centre (MPTC) will establish an Emergency Management and Crisis Management Centre of Excellence to support the Brunei Ministry of Home Affairs and Brunei National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC). The long-term training services contract includes options to extend the emergency and crisis management training services to twenty-five years.  The CAE Brunei MPTC will work closely with CAE's Integrated Enterprise Solutions group to develop a comprehensive emergency and crisis management capability and training program.  The overall solution will include development of training courses and implementation of modelling and simulation software tools and processes.
