CAE announced today at the 2017 Asia Pacific Airline Training Symposium (APATS) the expansion of its agreement with Air Niugini to support the airline's Fokker F100 pilot training needs in the region. Pilots began training in the second half of 2017 and CAE instructors are currently delivering type-rating training at the CAE Perth Training Centre in Australia.

Air Niugini has been a CAE customer since 2016.
Air Niugini is the state-owned national flag carrier of Papua New Guinea and has been in operation since the November 1, 1973. The carrier currently operates 25 aircraft with a fleet of B767, B737NG, Fokker 100/70 and its subsidiary Link PNG operates Dash 8 200/300's. The international operation covers 13 ports in 10 countries in South East Asian, Australia and the South Pacific region and 25 domestic ports. The Fokker aircraft are used on the domestic and regional international operations with more regional destinations being looked at with the introduction of the Fokker 70's into the fleet.
