Our pillars

Community relationships & skills development

Build positive and mutually beneficial relationships with Indigenous communities and peoples based on respect and understanding. Support skills development initiatives and community investments to prepare the workforce of tomorrow.

Create an engaged and inclusive workforce that reflects the broad diversity of Indigenous communities and peoples across our company.

4
Economic empowerment (Business Development)

Land acknowledgment

CAE respects and acknowledges the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples across Canada as the Keepers of the Territories upon which we live, work, and play. We express our gratitude for the opportunity to work on these lands and commit to fostering respectful and meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities.

CAE headquarters are located on traditional Indigenous lands. The Kanien'kehá:ka Nation is recognized as the custodians of the lands and waters on which we gather today.

The journey ahead

At CAE, we see reconciliation as an ongoing journey. Our approach to Indigenous engagement and inclusion is constantly evolving through continuous listening, learning, reflection, and action. We acknowledge that there is still much to learn and do.

This journey challenges us, our leaders, and our partners to walk together towards reconciliation. We are committed to taking innovative steps for meaningful collaboration and inclusion, and we will continue to strive for progress and accountability in all our efforts.

Participation in Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR)

As a PAIR Committed company, CAE intends to work collaboratively with the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business and Indigenous stakeholders toward the long-term goal of achieving Gold certification. Certified companies demonstrate their commitment to being strong business partners, fostering inclusive workplaces, and supporting prosperity within Indigenous communities. This certification highlights their dedication to meaningful engagement and positive impact.

Indigenous advisory board

We actively consult our Indigenous Advisory Board to guide our reconciliation efforts and ensure meaningful engagement. This board provides valuable insights across the four pillars. Their guidance is essential to our commitment to fostering positive and mutually beneficial Indigenous relations.

Indigenous Peoples Employee Resource Group: FIRE

FIRE’s mission is to raise awareness and promote the history, knowledge and cultures of Indigenous nations, and support CAE’s actions in two main areas:

  • Hiring, retention, and promotion of Indigenous employees at CAE
  • Development of CAE’s relationships with Indigenous businesses and communities

About the logo

Fire is one of the most vital forces on our planet, holding significant meaning in various mythologies, cultures, and religions worldwide. It symbolizes creation, life, and rebirth. For Indigenous Peoples, it is a gift from the Great Spirit, serving as a messenger. For our FIRE Employee Resource Group (ERG), fire represents our commitment to building meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities, and it also serves as a powerful acronym for our group.
